MY FAVORITE LINKS AND WHY
www.Coltenewhaledent.com
My "go-to" teammates for Affinis impression material, Alpen Diamonds (awesome!!), Hygienic rubber dam supplies (YOU MUST USE FLEXIDAM and Fiesta rubber dam clamps - that's an order!) and CoolTemp Natural, my first choice for bisacryl temporization. Good medicine!!
www.Orascoptic.com
They've supplied me with superior magnification devices for better than 20 years. Current favorites include my EyeMax class IV loupes with Zeon light. Without a doubt, this combination has made me a better dentist.
I also use their BodyGuard chair with arm supports. This preserves my low back muscles enabling me to put in a full day and still feel human at the end of it. Good stuff!!
www.Smilevision.net
I wouldn't begin a cosmetic rehab without a Smile Vision cosmetic simulation and subsequent resin replica mock up.
www.Photomed.net
The ultimate source for my digital dental photo equipment. If they don't know it, it hasn't happened yet.
www.dpreview.com
The finest digital camera review site in the business.
www.parkell.com
Very useful site for reading technique articles using the Parkell line of products. If you're not using Brush and Bond, you're missing out, mon ami.
www.Dentaltown.com
A go-to source for any and all discussions relating to our profession.
www.madow.com
What's better than meaningful CE taking place during the dead time in your car as you travel to and from work? Dr. Rich Madow interviews some of the top names in dentistry and seems to know exactly the right questions to ask at exactly the right time.
Pop a CD or tape into your car's audio system and learn from the leaders in our profession. Rich keeps it informal but hones in on the important info, quickly. He could be dentistry's answer to Larry King!!! (Much more handsome of course.)
Browse Rich's site for past interview CD's and tapes. As an aside, if you are currently running an STM (soft tissue management) program in your office, Do not miss Dr. Robert Fazio's 2-CD interview on Phase 1 perio treatment. The content would be worth an entire day at a live presentation.
I listened to it no less than three times personally, and also insisted that my hygiene staff listen to it as well. What an excellent way to tune up an STM program not to mention your understandng of phase 1 perio treatment goals. Pure gold.
If you've never checked out Rich's newsletter, The Richards Report, you might be surprised at how useful they can become when looking for a topic of discussion at one of your staff meetings.
Due to the "members only" distribution of this "almost underground" publication, you'll read things that the others aren't likely to print. Satisfaction is guaranteed. (By Rich, of course.)
Anthrogyr Crown and Bridge Remover
Absolutely, positively, unquestionably, A MUST HAVE. While marketed as a crown remover aimed at removing permanant crowns and bridges, where this item comes into everyday use is in the removal of temporaries and provisionally cemented crowns and bridges.
I use it EVERYDAY and have fun by asking patients, "How long do you think it'll take to get off that temporary crown?" After a 3- to 5-second painless removal, patient's typically ask, "It's off already!!??" We just smile and nod.
What about the emotional trauma incurred when attempting to tap off temporarily cemented crowns and bridges? The ATD crown and bridge remover performs like no other device.
Trust me on this one. Priced at under $500, there isn't any reason not to have one chairside at all times. Get one!
